Make student thinking visible during inquiry.
Students develop their own ideas, gather evidence, share and compare thinking, and revise their understanding over time. Teams can work together where the inquiry calls for it.
Teachers can look across a class, read individual and team thinking, and notice patterns that deserve a question, explanation or another investigation.
The focus is the thinking between the first question and the final understanding. Teachers guide the inquiry; the workspace supports their judgement.

In Sorting Out, Team Huddle gives a team a short checkpoint around shared thinking and evidence. Students consider what they are noticing, what remains uncertain and what to investigate next. They then return to their own thinking.
Teachers can view the team’s Huddle responses to see shared ideas, uncertainty and possible next teaching moves.

Why LensLab
Respond to thinking while it is developing.
Inquiry can produce rich student thinking, but much of it is hard to see while it is happening. A final answer rarely shows all the ideas, evidence and uncertainty that came before it.

Controlled teacher trials

LensLab is preparing for controlled teacher trials. Trial scope, access and data arrangements need to be agreed before student use.
Teachers sign in with Google and require approved access. Students use their teacher’s class code and their own PIN. Student use begins only after trial scope and data arrangements are agreed.
